Siemens AirDrop
During the worst drought ever, we gave air travellers guilt-free water to take from Joburg to Cape Town.
Cape Town was experiencing the worst drought in living memory and was set to become the first city in the world to run out of water completely. Residents were saving water as best they could, but the massive influx of travellers visiting the Western Cape for their holidays in December was going to put even more strain on the water supply.
B.Y.O.W.
We decided to tackle this problem by giving travellers guilt-free Johannesburg water when they landed in Cape Town. Kinda like a bring-your-own-water party. The only catch was that traveller’s baggage had to be at least 5kg under the baggage allowance. Flyers who didn’t want their water were able to choose to have their water delivered to charities in the Western Cape instead
With a huge amount of positive social, digital OOH, PR and radio coverage, our 5000 litres of water were collected in just a few short hours. Kind people and companies even donated their own water to be given to charity.
